Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero hit four goals as they thrashed Leicester City 5-1 on Saturday.
Riyad Mahrez returned as a substitute for the Foxes after more than a week in self-imposed exile following the collapse of a move to the Etihad Stadium, but he could do little to stop Pep Guardiola’s rampant side.
Aguero scored all his goals in the second half, propelling City to a 16-point lead at the top of the table after Jamie Vardy had cancelled out Raheem Sterling’s early opener.
City boss Pep Guardiola said: “When one guy is able to score four goals, he deserves all the credit and the nice words.
“He fought, he played really good and he scored. We needed it.
“In Burnley we missed a lot of chances.
“What we need from Aguero is him scoring goals. And he is doing it. It’s not only today, he is in a really good form.
“The most important part of the season is coming and having Sergio at this level will be very important.”
