Hector Bellerin says the difference between Arsenal and Barcelona was “night and day” when he arrived at the Emirates as a 16-year-old.
The Spaniard has developed into the Gunners regular right-back over the past two seasons. Although his form has been inconsistent this term, he has in recent times been linked with Juventus and a return to Barcelona.
Speaking at the Oxford Union on Tuesday, Bellerin revealed how the professionalism at Arsenal was completely different to his earlier years with Barcelona.
He said: “It was like night and day, the difference between Barcelona and Arsenal.
“At Barcelona I was just 8-16, when I came to Arsenal I was a professional footballer.
“At Barcelona we were just kicking around on the pitch, at Arsenal, my first day, there were no balls.”
